Lightnings Tic-Tac's

I have redone the blog. It is now less offensive to the senses. Enjoy, I may actually post on a regular basis this time.

So Empty

Most of the people in my department at work have moved over to the new building. I say my department, but it's really just the area I sit in. I'm not actually part of ITSB I think, I just work on the project that's going on that happens to be located in the same general area. But not really in the same area any more since most of (if not all) of ITSB has moved over to the new building. So now it's pretty quiet, and that's kinda nice, but now Theresa (one of my bosses) seems less busy, so now she'll notice how not busy I am, and she tends to be in a foul mood, so it's not as pleasant as I'd like.

But let me clarify one thing for people. I don't do much work around here, that is true, but it's not because I refuse to work, but because they have nothing for me to do most of the time. It still confounds me why they were hiring two student assistants, or even one for that matter. And they keep bringing in these new consultants, and this whole thing is a mess, and they have nothing for me to do. Sometimes, when I'm really bored, I try to figure out how much all this costs in taxes step by step. I'm not very good with numbers, so I'm betting I'm getting very incorrect figures, but it's still kind of fun. Anyway, this is my job. And starting next week I'll be here more often until school starts, so I can make some money to pay for school, and books, and life. So yeah, I'm gonna go find a quiet place to read I think. Maybe browse the CoH forums for a bit.

[Insert Clever Title Here]

Unfortunately I didn't get the classes I really wanted at Sac State. The existentialism class has a prereque of the WPE (Writing Proficiency Examination) which I must take before the end of the semester because 'm a junior. And the kicker, even if I had taken it before the semester started, it wouldn't be in the record soon enough for me to count as completed for this semester. That blows, I really wanted to take that class. I hope they have it again next semester. Two of the other classes I wanted to take were full, so I'm mostly clearing out the little bit of general ED. required by Sac State. It's really hard to make a schedule when you have a day job and want to actually be able to make money. So lame. Oh well. I've decided I'll go back to the lit mag next semester though, stay on just a little longer since I'll have to time to get over there and do it anyway. Besides, it looks great on a resume. Lets see Fiction Editor, Creative Non-Fiction Editor, Associate Poetry Editor, hell, I could probably get Editor-In-Chief next semester if I wanted to, but I don't. And on that note, if anyone wants a copy of the magazine, let me know. The 2006 issue just came out, it's very pretty and has some fantastic stuff in it. They're $20 I think, maybe $21 in the bookstore, but it's not a bad price considering the product. Plus my name is in it something like five times. But not as an author :(

That's all.

Trans-Siberian, not Trans-Vestite

I have injured myself. I pulled a muscle at Capoeira Thursday, so I'm not sure when I'll get back there. Hopefully this week I can go again, but I don't want to push it. The party Saturday was a success, I think. It was ok, Adrienne and I missed most of it because Trans-Siberian started an hour later than we thought and lasted longer than anticipated, but it was freaking awesome. Seriously, it's up there with Green Day. Anyone who has not seen Trans-Siberian, I highly recommend it. They do this rock Opera that revolves around a kind of cliche Christmas miracle, but their musicians and especially their singers are just phenomenal. Plus their lighting was damn fine. So yeah, this post fails to describe how fantastic the concert was, but Adrienne and I are planning on seeing them again next year and I would suggest everyone else in the world do the same.

Adrienne also admitted that her mom is getting Aerosmith tickets for us, and her brothers and herself and I think one other person, who are coming to town February. She also slipped and hinted at tickets to the Disturbed concert in Janurary(the 13th I think). Everyone who likes any of these bands who didn't know about these concerts now should. I think that's all for now.
